Shopping In Downtown

Shopping is a very unique experience in St. Petersburg. For one, they have a vibrant downtown area, which also happens to be super close to the beach. Downtown has a beach, in fact. It’s beautiful.

Though, there’s no doubt about it that all of the artwork, local crafts, jewelry, and even blown glass will distract you from the beach. It’s that incredible and amazing.

Beyond that there are boutiques selling trendy threads for men and women, long-ago established chocolate shops and even newer ice pop shops. They are social stops as much as flavor sensations.

Bernie’s & Son Jewelers
154 Beach Drive, Downtown is the area’s favorite jeweler. They have been in town 38 years providing estate and distinctive handmade and custom jewelry. They do share their ability to make jewelry as a repair shop as well. Get to know them and see why everyone loves Bernie’s.

Need something better than just a swimsuit? If you want to step out to the beach in style, go to Cerulean Blue. They also carry resort wear and related accessories, and apparel. The key to understanding why this shop is a gem is in its own in-shop design and manufacturing. Everyone needs this shop.

Daddy Kool Records is another shop that has a unique bent. It’s a record shop and concert ticket seller. It’s unique only in that so many other towns no longer have a record shop. Go in search of those records you want to add to your collection. It’s like a very pleasant trek back in time.

Haslam’s Book Store
Visit a shop with more than 80 years’ worth of books — used, new, and even rare, covering more than 300,000 titles. And somehow they have managed to keep it all neat and easy to browse. It also has spacious parking.

Fun Foods
Check out Hyppo crafts, which puts a new bent on the St. Pete’s art scene. They hand-make their gourmet pops from all-natural ingredients. They offer up more than 500 flavors depending on what’s in season and what they feel like making.

Kilwin’s Chocolate has been in St. Pete’s since 1947. The Mackinaw Island Fudge and 32 Flavors of their own-recipe ice cream are what draw the crowds. Or, could it be it is their caramel apples? Anyone who love chocolate loves Kilwin’s.
